Dear Renee,

From our research FHA- approved home appraisers must take several hours of classes, record hundreds of hours of supervised experience, take an exam, and earn a state license before being a registered FHA roster approved appraiser.

If you have additional questions about the housing counselor training and certification program, please visit the HUD Exchange or email HUD Housing Counseling at housing.counseling@hud.gov with the subject line, “Housing Counselor Certification.”

I am an office administrator for an Appraisal company. I am trying to find out what it means when an AMC asks if your appraiser is "FHA Certified". I can't find anything on that.
