Hope LoanPort announced yesterday they will close their operation on December 31, 2019.

HLP was created during the housing crisis to facilitate a better connection between defaulting borrowers and their Servicers to prevent foreclosure. And it worked. Housing counselors had a tool to quickly and safely deliver required documentation to Servicers to help borrowers apply for loan workouts.

For those of you who use HLP, there are some alternatives after December 31.
