Dear Counselor,
Individuals planning to take the certification examination at a proctoring center can utilize the tool to Locate a Kryterion Testing Center.
The exam will be available both in person and online throughout the US and in US Territories where there are proctoring centers, including Puerto Rico, Guam, and the US Virgin Islands. The exam will be available online only in the Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa, as there are no proctoring centers in these areas.
For any additional questions relating to Kryterion Testing Centers, please contact Kryterion Testing Center Support:
- Voice: 1-800-403-6199 (US) or +001-602-281-3591 (International)
- Email: KTNsupport@KryterionOnline.com
Hours of Operation: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern time, Monday–Friday
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the volume of test centers closing has grown quickly and continues to accelerate at a rate that outpaces resources available. The real time list of closed test centers can be found here: Kryterion Test Center Closures.
In response to this unprecedented volume, Kryterion will automatically reschedule all candidates with appointments at closed centers to a future date when the center is projected to be open again. As earlier dates becomes available, these exams can be re-scheduled again through the HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov user account to a date convenient to the test taker.
Candidates practicing social distancing or under self-quarantine who are scheduled for exams at test centers that remain open can reschedule an exam up to 72 hours before the appointment. Refunds will not be issued to candidates who fail to reschedule and do not show up to their examination.
Please submit an issue at HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov/Support or contact Kryterion Support if you have any COVID-19 related rescheduling questions; or if there are fewer than 72 hours before your exam appointment and you would like to reschedule due to social distancing or self-quarantine measures.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as Kryterion and HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov work to respond to rapidly arising issues during these unprecedented circumstances.
The fee charged each time an individual takes the certification examination is based on the cost of administering the examination. As announced in the Federal Register Notice dated May 31, 2017, an online proctored exam costs $60 and an in-person proctored exam costs $100. Any changes in pricing will be published in advance in the Federal Register.
