Dear Counselor,
The purpose of this message is to notify you of the possible expiration of your passing test score on the HUD Housing Counselor Certification Examination. In order to preserve your passing test score, you must transfer your exam results from HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov to the FHA Connection. For individuals who do not transfer the information, the exam results will expire within seven years of passing the exam. Those with expired results will be required to pass the exam again if they wish to become a certified housing counselor. Instructions for transferring exam results to the FHA Connection can be found at Certification Exam - Transfer Results to FHA Connection.
In order to become a HUD certified housing counselor, an individual must pass the HUD Housing Counselor Certification Examination and work for a HUD Housing Counseling Program Participating Agency. If you are not currently employed by a HUD participating agency, preserving your passing test score in the FHA Connection will allow you to apply for HUD Housing Counselor Certification in the event you do become employed by a HUD participating agency at a later date.
