Documentation of extenuating circumstances is required to waive or refund fees outlined in the No Shows & Cancellations Policy included in your Assessment Purchase Confirmation Email.

Please update this ticket by replying via the “...update this ticket” URL below and attaching documentation to support your request to reschedule or cancel without penalty due to extenuating circumstances.

Documentation may include, but is not limited to:

  • Note from a doctor listing the dates the candidate or immediate family member is incapacitated or requires care/observation without disclosing medical conditions
  • Flight itinerary or receipt displaying the airline ticket purchase date and dates of travel for medical emergency
  • Receipt for towing services or car repairs displaying the date of service
  • Detailed candidate statement which clearly defines the conflict including dates and the reason why formal documentation was not obtained (candidates are discouraged from disclosing medical conditions)

To cancel or reschedule your exam, sign in to HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov and select Change Your Test Date in the Countdown to your Exam! section of your User Profile Dashboard. Follow the steps to cancel your scheduled exam (the exam purchase will be refunded to the credit card used), then follow the steps to register for a new exam.
