I am a Realtor and a member of CAR (California Association of Realtors) and NAR (National Association of Realtors). I want to become a Certified HUD Housing Counselor and get the Certification. Please let me know how can I get the certification. I was the Housing and Logistic Manager with International Rescue Committee (IRC), a non profit organization but my contract ended on 1/31/2025. Please advise.

You can register for the certification exam online. In addition to the training materials on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov, the HUD Office of Housing Counseling offers many resources on the HUD Exchange. You can also subscribe to the Housing Counseling Mailing List for regular training notifications.
The online training consists of 15 modules that vary in length. Shorter modules take about 30 minutes, and longer modules may take up to 90 minutes to complete.
The online training is interactive, but it does not include audio.
The Study Guide consists of 15 modules and a Glossary that vary from approximately 20 to 60 pages. A single file of the entire training is not available.
The Support team is not able to provide physical copies of the Study Guide. You are welcome to print the training as befits your needs to prepare for the exam.
