To cancel or reschedule your exam, sign in to HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov and select Change Your Test Date in the Countdown to your Exam! section of your User Profile Dashboard. 

Follow the steps to reschedule or cancel your scheduled exam (canceled exams will be refunded to the credit card used), then follow the steps to schedule a new exam.

Greetings, my name is Marla Irizarry. I'm a single mom and recent first-time home buyer. During this process I realized that I want to help other women to achieve this goal, if I made it happen they can do it too. I would like to have an orientation related to the way I can be a homeowner counselor/advisor. I read the requirements, however it is required to be employed by a certified agency? The HUD Housing Counselor Certification Exam is available in English and Spanish. Candidates with limited English proficiency and limited Spanish proficiency may request additional exam time.

Dear Counselor,

There is no limit on how many times you can take the exam. However, the registration system does limit the number of times a candidate can register for the exam. 

If you receive a notice about maximum attempts, please call Support at 800-448-7149. Support will manually unlock the registration system while on the phone with you allowing you to register. Please do not call Support for assistance until you are ready to complete registration and pay for the exam.
