The training content is reviewed and updated on a periodic basis to maintain accuracy and relevance. Each time the online modules are updated, the Online Training Status resets because the new modules have not been reviewed. This is explained in the Notices tab on your User Profile as well as in the HUD listserv update announcement sent out on September 21, 2021.

The Knowledge Assessment, unlike the HUD Housing Counselors Certification Exam, poses questions at three levels of difficulty. By reviewing the results of this type of test, learners can assess their knowledge and focus their studies where there may be knowledge gaps. Within each level of difficulty, performance on questions answered correctly determines the feedback provided.

Ticket from Lane Raub - Certification Exam

Dear Counselor,

There is no limit on how many times you can take the exam. However, the registration system does limit the number of times a candidate can register for the exam.

If you receive a notice about maximum attempts, please call Support at 800-448-7149. Support will manually unlock the registration system while on the phone with you allowing you to register. Please do not call Support for assistance until you are ready to complete registration and pay for the exam.
