Eligibility – In order to be certified, an individual must both pass a standardized written examination covering six major topic areas and work for an agency approved to participate in HUD’s housing counseling program. In other words, you can take the certification exam without being employed at a HUD-approved agency; however, to become certified you must pass the exam and work for a HUD-approved agency.

If you have passed the exam, your next step is to authorize the transfer of your passing test results to FHA Connection. To do this, sign in to your account on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov and select “Exam Center” from the top navigation. Then, select “Transfer Results to FHA Connection.” If you are already signed in, you can directly access the Transfer Results page.

I am requesting to reset my password to enter the HUD training for HUD counselor. The email is saying not authorized. Can you please assist me. I want to sign up for the services.

I am a LENDER who wants to sponsor 5 in person or online exams for a Hud Approved Non profit organization. what do I need to do purchase the exams or get a "code" "coupon" etc? to give to the 5 awardees?

I have a scheduled HUD Housing Counselors Certification Exam for 4/12 at 10:30 AM.
Authorization code is 36etj6t7.
I am out of town and my flight has been canceled and I will not be in town for the test time.
How do I reschedule my exam?

To access the exam registration, you must be signed into your account on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov.

Once you are signed in, click on the “Exam Center” button on the home page, then click on “Register for Exam.” If you are already signed in, you can access the Register for Exam page directly.
