To access the exam registration, you must be signed into your account on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov.

Once you are signed in, click on the “Exam Center” button on the home page, then click on “Register for Exam.” If you are already signed in, you can access the Register for Exam page directly.

I would like to know how the test is scored ?i.e., how much is each question worth? How many can you get wrong and how many right to pass the exam? Total points and minimum needed to pass exam. I understand there are 90 questions, but please advise on above.

Good morning: I took the housing certification exam yesterday and wanted to share the fact that the calculator was not working correctly for division. The symbol did not work. I was surprised and frustrated to see that another type of calculator was not provided including the regular division, multiplication and percentage symbols. jfputmortgage@aol.com

Upon completion of the certification exam, each candidate receives an immediate PASS or FAIL notification, as applicable. Candidates who pass receive an email outlining next steps.

In order to be certified, an individual must both pass a standardized written examination covering six major topic areas, and work for an agency approved to participate in HUD’s housing counseling program. In other words, you can take the certification exam without being employed at a HUD-approved agency; however, to become certified you must pass the exam and work for a HUD-approved agency.  

I have received two different pass words following the creation of my new access account and the system doesn't acknowledge these pass words being sent ... What do I do? Look forward to your reply.

Can't find a face to face testing site in Indianapolis, IN. Where can I take the exam? I prefer to take it face to face?
