To access the exam registration, you must be signed into your account on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov.

Select Begin Exam Registration in the Countdown to your Exam! section of your User Profile Dashboard. Follow the steps to register for the exam.

How soon are testing results made available, and how soon can a person retake the exam if they do not have a passing score?

If you are unable to recall your password, enter your account email in the Forgot Password? tool. Within a few minutes, you will receive an email with a link to verify that you are the account owner. You will need to set a new account password after email verification. Support does not assign or have access to user passwords. 

I don't remember my password, when I try to re-set it. It does not send me the information to my email

I passed HUD Certification Exam and I trying to finish to process but I getting a message to try later. Can you please verify if I am not completing the information correctly or is your system.

I am trying to complete the HUD Housing Certification application and it is giving me an error saying that there is no exam on record. why would that be?

Certification Requirement

Housing counseling required under or provided in connection with HUD programs must be provided only by certified housing counselors who work for organizations approved to participate in HUD’s Housing Counseling Program. In order to be certified, an individual must both pass a standardized written examination covering six major topic areas, and work for an agency approved to participate in HUD’s housing counseling program.
