Exam registration, cancellations, and changes are handled through your account on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov.

To change your exam delivery type, sign in and select “Exam Center” at the top of the page, then select “Take Online Exam or Access Exam Details.” If you are already signed in, you can directly access the Exam Status Center. Follow the steps to cancel your scheduled exam (the exam purchase will be refunded to the credit card used), then follow the steps to register for a new exam.

I would like to take the HUD exam in my home but need to know if my work area is okay for the HUD exam. How do I sign up for a retest?

Good afternoon. My exam was rescheduled to July due to Covid closures. However, my agency requires that my exam be taken in June. Is there a possibility to change the exam to an online format so that it can be taken at home? Thank you.

Can the date of the exam be extended past August 1. Our office is closed and it is very difficult to prepare for the test in these most difficult and trying times. We are located in the New York City area and I do not need to tell you our area has been hit harder than other areas.
