Questions regarding the application process for HUD Certified Housing Counselor certification must be submitted to housing.counseling@hud.gov with subject line “FHAC."

Exam registration, cancellations, and changes are handled through your account on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov.

To change your exam delivery type, sign in and select “Exam Center” at the top of the page, then select “Take Online Exam or Access Exam Details.” If you are already signed in, you can directly access the Exam Status Center. Follow the steps to cancel your scheduled exam (the exam purchase will be refunded to the credit card used), then follow the steps to register for a new exam.

For online proctored exams, computer systems must meet the criteria outlined on the Kryterion Online Proctoring Support page. Before scheduling your exam, we encourage you to visit this page to test equipment compatibility, which includes checks for webcam, microphone, and internet speed.

Sorry if I missed these instructions, but I took the practice exam, and noted each section had some reference; i,e A.1.1.1 through C.2.2.3... I know these are referencing some portion of the training modules or study guides, but can you give some guidance on how to match the 2 up? Test question section reference and study guide section reference.

Does the HUD Housing Counselor Certification cover certification for Pre-purchase, post purchase, foreclosure prevention and financial literacy. Or is it required to complete certification in each topic?

To access the exam registration, you must be signed into your account on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov.

Once you are signed in, click on the “Exam Center” button on the home page, then click on “Register for Exam.” If you are already signed in, you can access the Register for Exam page directly.

To complete your account creation on HUDHousingCounselors.hud.gov, you will receive an email to verify your email address. If you do not receive a verification email within several minutes of creating your account, check your Spam or Junk folders to make sure the email was not misdirected.

In Mod 2.1 knowledge check 3 both B and D are correct. It says the answer is supposed to be B, but in D, 4% of $150,000 is $6,000 and it says the buyer would pay $7000 meaning that one is also incorrect. Please let me know how to answer this correctly for the test.
